How do I get a yucky smell out of tennis shoes?

My husbands tennis shoes got wet and smelly. I washed them twice with frebreze and baking soda and they still smell Any suggestions?

buy some odor-eater put them in your shoes it work sometime for me with my work boots

    Next time they get wet, stuff them with newspaper and leave them in a warm place to dry.
    Usually works for me (and I get REALLY smelly shoes)!!!

    doing all that stills smells. Then put them in the garbage, buy new ones.

    If they aren't colored, I would try washing them with hot soapy bleach water. When they are done, put baking soda in them every few hours or so-change the soda in the shoe to new soda. When they are finally dry, put the newspaper in them for a couple of days. This usually works for the stinky shoes at our house, but if not, I would definitely chuck the shoes & get new ones. Tell your hubby to also try some foot odor spray with baking soda before wearing his shoes. Good luck.

    Throw them away and have him start all over! Then buy some underarm roll on type of deodorant, and roll that all over his feet before he puts his t-shoes on! This really works. BUT, make sure you label the deodorant… you don't want his toe jam under your arms!

    its probably the glue inside the shoe that smells. I don't think there is much you can do about it.
