Newer Doc Martens have crappy "air" soles that quickly puncture and squeak. What is a good replacement brand?

I want a shoe that is like the old Doc Martens with heavy solid soles. The new soles suck up water and make squishing sounds as soon as you step on a tack. I tried Eastland but they have the same problem. I wanted to get Timberlands, but I was warned that they’re "too gangsta" for me.
