Airwalk is the brand of shoes that imitates other brands, right?

The other year I bought some birkenstocks [Love 'em. Comfy&Stylish] and well, actually that is totally irrelevent. Sorry. But I did see some Birkenstocks that looked…I don't know, fake. Then I saw the brand name Airwalk. Henceforth, my question. Answers very much appreciated!

Airwalk actually use to be a good show company. Thy started out as a company making skate shoes for skateboards. Then in the late 80's when skating was the "in thing to do" they went more mainstream. But they have kept some of their look over the years. I remember back in the day if you had a pair of Vision Street Wear shoes Airwalks you were cool as a ice.

But have seen some shoes recently and yeah I think they have sold out also.

Also good thing on the Berki's they are the best. Heck I wear steel toe Doc's at work with the Berki insert in them and they are the best shoes for comfort.

yes, they do. they copy shoes that are expensive and then sells the same size with muce less value. They sell vans look-alike and it has the word "airwalk" on the back.

I dunno– all "skate shoes" look alike to me. I don't know who's copying whom anymore. When I was in college (10 yrs ago), Airwalks were on the same par with Vans and other street shoe brands. They have a different styling than the others, with more heel padding and a thinner tongue, so I never have thought of them as being a knock-off of any other brand at all. It's just an older brand that has become so manistream as to be cheap (think Jordache jeans), and as a result has lost market share because people always are looking for something newer-and more expensive.

I still feel that imitation is the best form of flattery. Airwalk might have copied some of their designs but it’s possible that one of their goals is to sell affordable shoes.

Btw, I found this site about Pasty shoes. I love the concept and designs. These shoes are inspired by Pastry products and have definitely made major changes in making women’s rubber shoes sweet, chic and unique.

Pastry shoes have similar designs with Nike, Chucks, etc. but they are more flamboyant, experimental, and individualistic. I’d like to share their website it’s http://www.pastrykicks.com/. Hopefully, you can understand my appreciation for these shoes.

I don’t see how a shoe can be “fake”. It’s not like when you get home and put it on it isn’t a shoe anymore. Every sneaker company looks at what their competitors are doing and what is “in” when they are coming up with designs. Who else offers a good-looking durable shoe for under 25 bucks?
